Calibrate Partners is co-partnered by John White and Michela Ferrulli.
London-based asset manager with $800m in AUMs.
John White, the CIO and PM of the strategy, was the manager of the GLG Alpha Select Fund until he stepped down in 2013. He was also manager of the GLG UK Select (long-only)*
The European L/S strategy (non UCITS fund) was launched in August 2021 on the back of the opportunities in the markets after the pandemic.

Investment Strategy

Fundamental, thematic, valuation driven, large cap, equity long/short strategy historically focused on European stocks and opportunistic investments in North America.
Disciplined approach that combines a top-down analysis, formed by engaging with a proprietary network and focused upon macro drivers, and a bottom-up analysis that combines a deep industry knowledge and company engagements to understand the market dynamics and the inflection points.
Long and short books are independently constructed with a management overlay of the portfolio.
High conviction portfolio with dynamic low net exposure.

Biography

John White (CIO)

John White began his career in finance at James Capel and then joined SBC O'Connor (now UBS) in 1991 where he traded Equity and Equity derivatives. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 as Head of UK Equity Trading and then European Equity Prop Trading until 2004 when he joined GLG Partners and founded the award-winning Alpha Select Fund. He retired from running money in 2014 and formed Calibrate Management as a family office. He then graduated as Exec MBA from LSE, NY Stern, HEC Paris in 2017.
